GPI is seeking skilled construction inspectors to work on various transportation construction projects in northern and southern Maine for upcoming projects. Projects may include the construction of bridges, highways, factories or waterways. Experience working with MaineDOT, Maine Turnpike Authority or other public agency standard specification preferred.

Functions:
It will include, but is not limited to, daily quantity tracking, planning of daily construction activities, traffic management monitoring, material acceptance, and operational quality monitoring.
Eligibility:
0-5 years of experience in various professional training is considered a plus
Common certifications include OHSA Safety Construction, NETTCP, ACI, Traffic Safety Work Zone, Stormwater/erosion control, and construction experience.
Minimum Requirements:
- Carry a valid driving license and a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final inspection
- Get a personal vehicle for use on site or in a work environment
- Read, write and understand plans and instructions given in English
- Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails, and use SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members.
- Able to stand for a minimum of 3 hours per day up to 8 hours
- A construction site with uneven surfaces that vary in height and material consistency, with an elevation change of 19" or less (clay, gravel, broken ground, etc.)
- Can climb and leave stairs to different platforms from 6' to 20'
- Can fly airplanes or jump cars up to 100 feet
- May wear a personal fall arrest device and operate at a height of 6' or greater
- May wear GPI required PPE i.e. hard hat, protective clothing, work boots and/or goggles/safety glasses while working
- Can carry equipment or monitors weighing up to 50 kilograms
