As a maintenance engineer, you will provide technical support to resolve plant issues that affect production in the short term. You also provide technical expertise, which may be hardware-based or repair technology-based, that affects the usability and maintainability of the property. This role requires conceptual knowledge of analytical technology theories, techniques and methods.

You can also complete all of the following tasks.
- Act as an expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
- Develop maintenance discipline.
- Provide technical expertise to facility personnel in troubleshooting, repairing, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet intended or existing operating conditions.
- Ensure work requests include technical information on repair details and provide onsite/offsite technical support for process critical equipment that deviates from this information as needed.
- Ensure repairs, repair techniques and equipment-specific training are documented and available.
- Ensure viability of global project methodology activities.
- As needed, support the Preventive Maintenance Coordinator in revising the spare parts list for existing equipment.
- Enter quality, service and product performance data into the reporting system.
- Participate in maintenance budget development to support maintenance strategy.
- Provide specifications for work packages to ensure standards are properly met.
- Provide feedback on work progress during development of work to be translated, especially for critical equipment requiring technical review or input.
- Provide equipment reliability and performance data to technical resource networks for inclusion in equipment procurement requirements, evaluation of equipment performance, supplier performance, and changes to Most Effective Technology (MET). Complete EHandS instruction and all required training.
- Demonstrate safe work behavior and work safely without injury or harm to the environment. Meet all EHandS production area and/or service area requirements.
- Support occupational hygiene and other EHandS workflow functions. Consider safety aspects when planning and performing maintenance.
- Understand the effect of process chemistry on construction or lubricating materials. Use maintenance costs, reliability and maintenance metrics for a given area.
- Understand property maintenance strategy objectives and associated equipment failure history for assigned areas.
- Analyze the impact of equipment failures on maintenance costs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Initiate MOCs related to reliability and actually implement changes in your area of responsibility in collaboration with appropriate management.
- Understand the principles of long-term cost of ownership.
- With Training, analyze and search maintenance costs in a given area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Materials Science/Metallurgical Engineering OR Military experience at US E6 or higher or Canadian 2nd Class (PO2/Sgt) military rank.
- At least 2 years of maintenance, design, production, etc. experience is required.
